I’m Maria, a self-taught surface designer and former magazine editor. I like browsing historic patterns for textile and wallpaper inspo. I draw things on my iPad. I sew. Sometimes I get crafty and combine the two, using fabric I’ve designed, to make things like napkins, pillows, zipper pouches, and purse charms.

I spent 15-plus years as a professional writer and editor, most recently in the banking industry, before leaving a cushy, boring corporate job in November of 2024 in search of more creative flexibility and ownership.
